I tried to fix something. Thought it'd be easy. Thought I knew what the problem was for sure.

Well, it didn't work. Tried several other things. They didn't work either.

End result. It now looks worse than when I started.

And this isn't even one of the new costumes! God Ciel why...

I am rethinking my desire to enter this costume anymore as I'm not feeling so great about it lately after seeing several other cosplayers do it at AX and do it...a lot better...and I look at mine and realize everything I did wrong and just feel like throwing it out the window. (I already did throw it down the stairs when I was first working on it in frustration at one point.)

ahphpghiphpih This is supposed to be a fun hobby, not one that makes me want to curl in a ball and die. lol

That and now because of this I am waaaaay further behind than I was before. As in, I might actually not finish one of my costumes for the first time ever. I know, that's not really a biggie but still, I kinda took pride in the fact I've always got everything done I planned to do.

Okay so I'm back from Disney. And Haiti. And next week is Otakon. And the week after is the US Virgin Islands.

Oh my god why can't I have a day to just... lay around and do NOTHING? I'm so lucky to do so many things but goodness! I'm so burnt out! I will upload all of my Haiti and Disney photos hopefully tomorrow so everyone can see them! I've had a lot of people ask about Haiti especially!

So...Otakon. I'm bringing three, maybe four costumes. (If Kate and I finish our hilarious bullshit costumes.) Otherwise, it's just the three. Two of them are Asuka. One is ridiculous. And one is, well, a very entertaining choice.

Also I thought I'd write a little bit about the Carolina serial killer. As most of you know, I'm from South Carolina. More specifically, I am from the Upstate. Gaffney, SC is in the upstate. In fact, my MOTHER works in downtown Gaffney. The furniture store where this man shot up two of the victims is one block from my mother's office. I have NEVER felt more sick than when I had to leave for Florida with that man on the loose knowing that my mother was still going to go to work. All these people were killed along Highway 11, a road that I drive on relatively regularly. My grandmother takes it to work. My dad takes it to court when he has court in Gaffney. Mom takes it every day.

When I got to Florida and told my Uncle Clifford about the serial killer, he hadn't heard anything about it. WHAAAAAT. This is fucking annoying. I love Michael Jackson, but why couldn't the news broadcast that,"HEY GUYS THERE'S A SERIAL KILLER ON THE LOOSE IN SOME STATE SOMEWHERE." I didn't see anything on CNN until he was DEAD. And even then it was a ticker at the bottom of the screen. Pathetic. Yes, it's very sad Michael Jackson died. I loved his music. But when the media chooses to potentially jeopardize MORE people's lives by not even broadcasting such a terrifying subject as a RAMPANT SERIAL KILLER in favor of covering what Jackson's sister we have never heard of thinks about his death, that's not okay. Maybe if they had put the sketch on the TV more, less people would have died. I go fabric shopping in Gastonia, NC. That's where he was shot. And the only reason the Gaston county police even found him is because a lady thought someone was stealing from an abandoned house that was next to hers. I'm just so disgusted. We'd know if fucking Miley Cyrus had a COLD but half the country doesn't even know about the killings in Gaffney. And I'm sure NO ONE but locals knows of the panic that it caused here. Blah. Anyways.

...I had a great time at Disney, though!

Looks like the Geass kingdom is coming to an end...

*edited: For those who are wondering how did EVA characters climb this high this fast...the *new* EVA Movie (Evangelion: 2.0 You can (not) Advance) just came out., and it's apparently very good and Asuka somehow totally rocked in it...so all the fans are hyped. I never watched the series nor the new movies, so I can't say.

On the bright side, while sweating to death upstairs and unable to find any tank tops, I discovered that this old dress I got at Walmart a few years ago for part of my Clytemnestra costume (lmao for that violent tango Oresteia scene that gave me this ETERNAL BACK INJURY) works really well as a nightgown.

Edit: OH and since I didn't mention this before, YES THE IHOP IS BACK \o/ Apparently there was a fire inside it before and THAT'S why it was closed for a few months.

I've watched most of the series on youtube and I really would like to have it on dvd. I want to buy the boxset cheaply but I definitely do not want bootleg. Anyway, please give me merchant site recommendations?

I have spent the last.... 4 hours or editing and re-editing photos for my official portfolio that I will be printing out soon. There are 28 images, which I'm breaking down into two journal entries.


There are a LOT of images here that have never been edited before and no one has seen. EVERYTHING has been re-edited for print. Unfortunately a lot of images lost a lot of color data since they have to be turned into CMYK and saved as a .tiff to get the maximum quality out of the images. I'll probably discard the ones that lost a lot of data all together as I have already nixed a few.

What I am asking: Tell me your favorites, they are numbered to make it easier. Or tell me the ones you flat out do not like.

What I do NOT want: Going to come off as a bitch, but it needs to be said. This has nothing to do with how your costume looks (the few cosplay photos there are), how your face turned out, or if you think you look bad. This has EVERYTHING to be with the fact this is my portfolio and these are the images I feel best reflect my photography. I finally feel I have enough photos to put together a great portfolio and it's really just too bad if you don't think you look good. Of all the bullshit I've dealt with the past couple of months, I just want to be able to have a portfolio I like and am proud of without people being nasty or giving me problems.

Now that that is out of the way, enjoy the photos! Photos are in no order except number 1, and that's because I miss Renee.

Hey to all of you who are making/have made a P4 uniform...

On the collar, the number representing their year, is it patch or a pin?

I'm unsure which method to go with. I have embroidery methods so I can make it a patch but would a pin make more sense 'cause then they can change it each year without needing a new uniform? lol I dunno.

Meanwhile, today I tried to redo Ciel's cuffs. Thinking for sure this would fix the issue...and it's not. At all. And I don't know what to do. agphiphiphpoghih! >> Thought I was done with that costume but noooo.
